Quando foi dado o projeto comecei a pensar qual seria a melhor abordagem para fazer um festival que promovesse a igualde de géneros, procurei o tema na internet e movimentos associados e não consegui ficar indiferente com o movimento feminista contra a objetificação da mulher.
O objetivo é criar um festival de cinema sobre o tema cima referido, dando mais um placo para expor e retrata o mesmo. Devido a considerar este tema como um problema realmente importante decidi promover um festival de cinema feminista que defenda a
mulher como um ser humano igual ao homem e não uma espécie de sub-raça inferior. Somo todos homos sapiens, mas o dilema está aí o porquê de meter homo em tudo?
Homo vem do latim homem e achamos injusto como raça chamarmo-nos homens sábios somos todos humanos, ou seja, homens e mulheres, não ficaria bem feminae sapiens?
E aqui é onde encontramos outro obstáculo! Será que temos de meter a palavra homem e mulher em tudo?

O festival que organizamos serve para dar voz a esta desigualdade, e o primeiro passo para este se realizar foi batizá-lo, começámos por quatro opções statera, genus, athena ou minerva, perante este desafio de dar voz a esta questão a melhor opção para a destacar é nomear o festival com o nome do problema e assim foi escolhido genus.
